Very near miss - ouch!

A male Citrine Wagtail was seen flying in from Hilbre direction by Obs member JET & Eddie Williams and dropped onto West Kirby Saltmarsh this morning allowing some more than adequate record shots to be taken by JET (see below).

Unfortunately it proceeded to fly off south - although it is still being looked for (at West Kirby & Hilbre!)

The Obs members on the island (a couple of whom were engaged in a ringing demo to a visiting group in the Obs at the time) were somewhat deflated - but discussions have already commenced as to whether it was seen in or over our recording area!

Another great bird in a great Spring for North Wirral.  All photos JET.
