The weather was ideal for migrants this morning if it had been early May rather than June, but all that was found in the trapping area was a Chiffchaff. With Paddyfield (2009) and Blyths Reed Warbler (2011) both being found in the first week of June, a big rare one is still hoped for even though the spring proper is now over. Two drake Eiders were on the west side for a few hours (right), and there were flypasts of 4 Greylags south down the east side and 5 Canada Geese also south by Little Eye. Four Swallows fed around the island, and passing through were 3 House Martins and groups of 2 then 5 Swifts. A single Whimbrel was on the shore.
