15th May 2014

Weather: S 0-1, backing NW by 10am, 6/8 cloud, 35 miles vis

A single Sedge Warbler was trapped and ringed but was the only warbler on the island today.

5 Wheatears did pass through but again the focus was on butterflies with a Wall seen, quite uncommon at Hilbre in recent times, along with a couple of Small Tortoiseshells and aPeacock as well as 9 Cinnabar moths.

Ringing: Sedge Warbler

(DB, SRW briefly) [540-31]
