Weather: ESE, then N force 1
The first small fall of Willow Warblers arrived this morning, with 10 ringed out of twenty on the island, also a Sedge Warbler and a Wheatear present. A Greenshank appeared on this typical date for them to be around the islands, while small waders counted included 40 Dunlin, 41 Ringed Plovers and 90 Knot. Only a single Whimbrel was found. Ravens are more frequent visitors in the last few years and a single was seen today. Despite the rain last night a good selection of moths were in the traps, mainly Large Yellow Underwing (13) and Antlers (14), while butterflies in the day included 15 Small Whites, 4 Red Admirals, 7 Small Tortoiseshells and a Peacock.
Ringed: 10 Willow Warblers, 2 Linnets
