16th July 2021

Weather: W force 3

Only one migrant in the paddocks this morning and it turned out to be the first returning Willow Warbler of the autumn.

Depending on weather conditions we may see quite a few more over the next month or so as it is our most numerous migrant, but there are never as many as in the spring. A Whimbrel was present again, with 4 Curlew and 14 Redshank, also 5 Little Egrets. Twelve Gannets were the attraction on the sea, while 200 Sandwich Terns and 25 Common Terns were noted. It was another decent moth list this morning from the light trap.
