Weather: NE force 5 slight mist.
There has been double figures of Willow Warblers over the last 3 days but figures only arrived today in the very bright conditions. Likewise just 8 Swallows were passing. The quieter day gave focus on some of the less numerous breeding species like the Blackbirds, Song Thrushes, Rock Pipits and Pied Wagtails.
A flock of about 5,000 Knot were seen moving across West Kirby towards the north east, no doubt leaving us until next winter. Waders still here or passing included 6 Bar-tailed Godwit, 500 Dunlin, 4 Grey Plover, 5 Turnstone and 4 Whimbrel. Just about completing the list for the day were 2 Sandwich terns, 3 Little Egret, a Grey Heron, a Great Crested Grebe and a Common Scoter.
