Weather:    ESE force 3

As the early morning tide ebbed there were 300  Shelduck by the Tanskeys and in the gutter. Five Purple Sandpiper were to be found at the north end along with a late Arctic Tern.

 A lovely sight was a family group of 7 dark- bellied Brent Geese, including 5 juveniles (right in first picture), although 8 were present in total along with the 287 pale-bellied which is a high count for this early in the season.

There were 78 Redshank around the islands but just one Knot was roosting along with Turnstone (86 counted today) on the east side.

 A couple of Red-throated Divers were on the sea plus 3,500 Common Scoter out towards the windfarm. Five Little Egrets were logged today.

A Fieldfare was heard calling and was spotted flying over the obs but seemed to come down and was heard near the south end later. a small flock of Linnet flew south towards Middle Eye.
