8th December 2022

Weather: still air at dawn,  NE 2/3 by the afternoon

Eiders are still around, this time just a single immature male and 5 other female types

Just north of Little Eye first thing there were 177 Grey Plover, other waders today were 110 Dunlin, 6 Ringed Plover, 96 Turnstone and 18 Purple Sandpipers. One hundred and fifteen Shelduck were between the islands and shore after tide.

Sixteen Linnets were on middle but they visited the main island in the afternoon, while a Skylark was down and feeding on the seed of Sea Purslane.

A Raven flew over middle then towards Red Rocks, and the Kestrel spent time on the island. Sightings from the sea included 14 Red-throated Divers, 8 Gannets, 8 Great Crested Grebes, 3 auks and 430 Common Scoter. At least 200 Brent are still present.

On their way off the island our observer found over 50 Jellyfish on the strandline around Little Eye, some were moon jellyfish but most were barrel jellyfish.
