4th October 2023

 Weather: SW force 3

It was an interesting day today with some migration. The wind was from the south west so that did not bode well but it was warm and bright. A pair of Ravens turned up first thing with one of the Eiders. There was a constant movement of Meadow Pipits for the whole morning so the count number of  about 50 may be an underestimate. Ringed today were 3 Goldcrests, a Reed Bunting and a Willow Warbler. The Willow Warbler was an adult, its dull colouration gives that away,

but the other birds caught were all first years. There were only 2 Brent Geese at the north end at the start of the day but more did arrive when the tide started to rise.

The best of the waders seen were 70 Ringed Plover and 22 Curlew. The Kestrel was here.
