Weather: E force 6, rain and drizzle
Highlight of a poor weather morning was a Great Northern Diver flying east near the north end before diving into the sea. Another large sighting of Common Scoter was observed this morning when 1,200 were out towards the wind farm whilst 3 were near to the island. Five Red-throated Divers and 13 Great Crested Grebes also showed in the strong easterly. Other inhabitants of the sea were 2 Red-breasted Mergansers and the Eiders which had increased to 4 today.
Pale bellied Brents totalled 320 birds.
As the tide was low only 3 Purple Sandpipers were seen, other waders this morning were 112 Curlew, 6 Ringed Plover, 2 Bar-tailed Godwits and 120 Turnstone.
Only a few Redshank were about.
Two Oystercatchers fed on top of the island.
Two hundred and forty one Cormorants were on the sea and shore, this one had a good feed.
The Daffodils are showing well at the moment, including the narcissi at the John Gittens memorial plaque.
