Weather: WSW force 4, W 2/3 after midday
Best of the day on a westerly wind was a Short-eared Owl that put up the roost of birds on Middle. Migration today included 2 Goldcrests, 6 Skylarks and a continuation of the flow of Starlings passed the island, 35 seen today. Finches also appeared in the form of 22 Linnets, 2 Chaffinches and 2 Goldfinches. Only 90 Brent were counted, a single female type Eider and 200 Scoter were logged with little else on the sea except for a Great Crested Grebe and a Razorbill. Waders included 400 Dunlin, 20 Ringed Plover, 90 Turnstone, 18 Sanderling, 55 Redshank and 4 Purple Sandpipers.
