10th August 2022

 Weather:  SE force 1,  S 2 later

An early tide and therefore an early start found a Greenshank in the gutter by the obs and a few Linnets and a Willow Warbler was ringed.

The day was warm with hardly any wind and the Swallows were out in force feeding, there were plenty of Linnets too.A couple more Willow Warblers were ringed, the one pictured here is an adult, the majority at this time are predominently juveniles.

A Blackcap was also ringed which was a very young juvenile that had not started its post juvenile moult.

There were plenty of Sandwich Terns about, the picture shows one resting with some Dunlin at the north end.

A seal was at the north end waiting for the tide to come in before it stretched and left.

And then a Guillemot turned up at the north end round about high tide.

Over a hundred Dunlin and 40 odd Ringed Plovers were about the island with 3 Whimbrel still here.
