Weather: WSW 3/4 decreasing during the morning
A cool south westerly did us no favours this morning, however at this time of year there is always something to find. Two Chiffchaffs and the second Willow Warbler of the year were in the paddocks,
and 4 Goldcrests emphazised there are more of these yet to pass through the islands this spring and 5 White Wagtails continued the records of recent days, a pair of Pied Wagtails were also here.
A charm of 5 Goldfinches flew around as they explored the island. Those recent favourites Woodpigeon and Magpie both made an appearance.
Distant Gannets (29) featured as they fed out in Liverpool bay where about 400 Common Scoter flew in flocks. Two Great Crested Grebes floated off the north east corner of the island as did a Guillemot, probably the same individual as seen over the last few days.
Three males and a female type Eider mingled with the 180 or so Brent while 7 Shelduck were off the east side. A count of 22 Bar-tailed Godwits was decent and 3 Purple Sandpipers fed with the Turnstones between the islands as the tide ebbed.
Ringed: 2 Goldcrest, 1 Willow Warbler, 1 Chiffchaff.
