19th September 2025

Weather: SSE force 3  later SSW 4

A quiet day with few migrants which consisted of 2 Goldcrest in the obs garden, a Grey Wagtail over heading south, 6 Robin recorded probably includes some incomers and 3 Wheatear  were about all day.

Over towards the marsh 347 Curlew congregated ahead of the rising tide and a single bird in Niffy Bay was colour ringed which showed it to be part of a mid Wales ringing project.

Also around the island were 24 Ringed Plover,

and on the East Hoyle on the ebb 30 Grey Plover, some still in summer plumage.

A shag was noted between the islands at high tide and some of the 7,300 0ystercatcher recorded roosted on Middle.

Wildfowl featured 22 Common Scoter, 155 Shelduck and the female Eider.

The Kestrel still hunted the voles.
