Weather: WSW force 3    WNW 4 after the tide

The odd migrant turned up on a quiet day, and there was one each of Willow Warbler, Wheatear, and Grey Wagtail although 3 Robins and 5 Swallows were the exception. Another Brent arrived today, making 3 early birds on the islands. The westerly blew in 70 Gannets, while 300 Sandwich terns were noted and a Shag was still at the north end.

Around the edges of the islands were 18 Little Egrets and 5 Grey Herons. A Raven paid a visit and in addition to the regular Kestrel a Peregrine gave a show of aerial skill. Waders included 200 Curlew, 2 Whimbrel, 4,500 Oystercatchers,  35 Redshank and 12 Dunlin and
150 Ringed Plover.

Pipits present were 6 Meadow and 8 Rock. There was olfactory evidence of the presence of the  Fox. Three frogs were seen...

... while butterflies noted were 12 Red Admirals,
