 Weather: SE force 1,      ESE 2/3 by early afternoon.

A really good day on the island this morning with 15 birds ringed, which is not expected this late in autumn. In the paddocks and gardens were 7 Goldcrests, a Chiffchaff, 5 Chaffinches, 4 Goldfinches, 2 Greenfinches, 2 Dunnocks and a Lesser Redpoll, while also passing through were records of 7 Skylarks, 6 Starlings, 7 Pied Wagtails, a small passage of Meadow Pipits, 1 or 2 new Blackbirds and 31 Redwings. Chief among the waders today were a flock of 28 Golden Plovers drifting high over the island early in the morning, while other plovers seen were 2 Grey and 65 Ringed as well as 120 Redshank, 62 Curlew, 45 Sanderling, 14 Turnstone and a Bar-tailed Godwit. As winter approaches wildfowl becomes more numerous, there were 240 Brent today and 11 Wigeon, 2 Pintail, a male Eider, a pair of Red-breasted Mergansers and a male Common Scoter. No raptors around the islands but a Raven was here. A late Red Admiral butterfly was on the wing.

 Ringed: 5 Goldcrests, 4 Wrens, 2 Blackbirds, 1 Chiffchaff, 1 Redwing, 1 Dunnock, 1 Linnet.
