Weather: ESE force 4/5
The first Stonechat of the year arrived today, at first feeding on the west side rocks then onto the usual spots on the fences, a sure sign of spring.
Other small 'spring' visitors on the island were a Dunnock and a Skylark, while one of the 4 Rock Pipits on Middle was displaying. Just 2 males and a female Eider were quite a way out this morning, while 11 Goosander were off the North End.Twelve Great Crested Grebes floated on the sea and 10 Scoter were about the islands and could be heard calling.Another high count of 338 Brent Geese was made, most being on the East Hoyle and the North End.
