Weather: SSE force 2, light air later in the afternoon.
Before the sun was up a small flock of 28 Pink-footed
Geese flew out of the estuary on the Welsh side heading north. It was busy at the north end with 11 Goosander (6 male 5
female) feeding along with 8 Eider which comprised of an adult male, 2 immature
males and 5 females.
Sea birds were few, just 56 Common Scoter and a Great Crested Grebe. A Peregrine flew down the west side late afternoon, while the Kestrel was still present. Seven Shelduck flew passed going west and a high count of 317 Brent were around.
Both Rock (5) and Meadow Pipit (3) were on show this morning.
Eighteen Purple Sandpipers were noted and after the tide 11,000 small waders were sighted from Hilbre on the sand in front of the marsh.
