Weather: ESE force 3 slight haze, NNW 3 in the afternoon
Seven adult Rock Pipit were around both main islands and very vocal at the north end of Hilbre with at least 2 juveniles present there, juvenile Meadow Pipit were also about.
On the sand towards the marsh were 20 Canada Geese, while 5 Mallard were on the island, 3 Eider (male, imm male, female) and 2 Shelduck were around on the sea.
Five Turnstone were at the north end and there was an over tide roost at the south end of the main island of 200 Dunlin,, 20 Ringed Plover and 2 Sanderling .
Seven Little Egret were noted before the tide and 2 Heron flew around the island then came down in the pond.
Also around the island were a pair of Pied Wagtail, and 2 Goldfinch could possibly be nesting.
On the sea were 25 Gannets, a Guillemot and terns made up of 150 Sandwich and 40 Common. Photos AS
