2nd May 2025

Weather: NNW force 3.    WNW by late afternoon

Eight Shelduck were recorded today along with a single male Common Scoter, 2 male Mallard swam on the pond but sadly the remains of a female were found in one of the gardens in which the Fox was seen yesterday.

One of the 5 Eider present seems to be the flightless female that has stayed around for a few years now.

On the afternoon ebb 21 Little Tern fed in the shallow water towards the marsh, 124 Sandwich Tern fed further out towards the windfarm along with  48 Gannet.

Just 2 Grey Plover were logged with one being in summer plumage roosting on Middle over tide, also recorded 41 Ringed Plover, 22 Whimbrel and 225 Dunlin which roosted on the west side.

Some of the islands colour ringed Rock Pipits are spending the breeding season with us.
