9th November 2023

 Weather: SSE force 4

On the morning ebb there were 3 Grey Heron around Little Eye and about 400 Shelduck in the area.

Two hundred and seventy Curlew were counted on the East Hoyle with just one Bar-tailed Godwit. There was a good count of 160 Turnstone feeding aound the lagoon area as the tide dropped off,

...... but only a single Grey Plover was with them. A pleasant surprise was finding that the Purple Sandpiper had increased to 8 at the North End, showing well in a good light.

Three Eider were recorded but they all fed in different areas, with the adult male doing well for mussels off the east side.

The only migration noted was 7 Skylarks over and a flock of 14 Starling going south down the island ahead of the rain.
