3rd April 2013

A male Ring Ouzel was on the main island this morning before flying off towards Middle, but was almost immediately re-found back on the island near the bungalows. Unfortunately it did not stay beyond noon and was not caught for ringing or stayed long enough to be photographed but at least it was a good record for the island after a blank year in 2012. The small passage of Meadow Pipits increased to over a hundred today and there was a snall arrival of Blackbirds mid-morning but they soon moved off and probably took the Ring Ouzel off with them. Earlier in the morning singles of Greenfinch and Chiffchaff were in the trapping area and a Starling flew over. A hundred Bar-tailed Godwits flew passed travelling north east and a party of 3 Jackdaws flew south east. (DB,CJ)
