Weather: light air
A quiet morning visit in calm conditions was also fairly quiet for birds, The highlights were 2 Whooper Swans, and a Rook flying west, a scarce bird at Hilbre. Common Terns had their first arrival with 35 birds but only a single Sandwich Tern was seen.
Whimbrel (left hand bird, with Curlew) are starting to build up in numbers, 6 were here this morning.Breeding species were showing well, a Blackbird was singing from a rooftop, Pied Wagtail was around on the rocks, and Song Thrush was feeding near the lookout/light area.
