Weather: ENE force 4, decreasing 3 by noon, drizzle most of the day
A wind and weather change stifled migration today as expected, although 2 Chiffchaffs, 2 White Wagtails and a Wheatear were on the island this morning. Goosander made a return after a short absence of records with a male today, while Eiders present were 2 males (1 immature) and a female. A male and 2 female Red-breasted Mergansers were on the sea, also 20 Common Scoter. On the shore were 3 Little Egrets, a Grey Heron, 60 Turnstones and 10 Purple Sandpipers. Observing conditions were challenging to say the least but the island was covered for another day.
Ringed: 1 Wren, 1 Chiffchaff.
