 Weather: SW force 4/5  with drizzle increasing force 7 by afternoon.

A slightly disappointing day for migrants, a few Meadow Pipits continued coming through and a couple of Chiffchaffs were here. No Wheatears, Goldcrests nor White Wagtails today, however finches featured 6 Siskin, a Chaffinch and 12 Goldfinches.

Brent were counted at 290, Shelduck 6, Eider 3 and perhaps less expected were 7 Pintail flying north. Local Canada Geese flew around the shore.

Sea birds in the fresh wind were 2 Red-throated Divers, 20 Gannets, 2 Great Crested Grebes, 15 Sandwich Tern and a Guillemot. A pair of Woodpigeons were here again, they've been here that often that they may be thinking of making Hilbre their home.

Thirteen Purple Sandpipers roosted the tide, other waders included 26 Ringed Plover and 20 Bar-tailed Godwit. The moth trap captured 2 Hebrew Characters
