6th June 2021

Weather:  Warm and sunny after cloudy start.

Another beautiful day, the slight surprise were 2 Kittiwakes dropping in at the north end for a while.

The Eiders were still in attendance, this time with an additional male instead of the female, 18 Shelduck and 4 Little Egrets were logged, also 22 Sandwich and 4 Common Terns. Following the run of recent records of Canada Goose, a pair of Greylags made a nice change today. The Whitethroat still stays on the island. The list of moths from last night is longer than usual.

Below, top to bottom:

Shoulder-striped Wainscot, White Ermine, Common Swift, Spectacle.

Not in the morning trap were Cinnebar moth and Common Blue butterfly.

The Blackthorn is now producing some developing Sloes berries.
