4th October 2021

 Weather: SSW force 5

After a relatively poor showing of Turnstone recently, a flock of 55 arrived at the north end today and sat on the rocks, one example of migration in action; another was a total of 80 Meadow Pipits flying low over the estuary into the south westerly wind. Migration of a slightly different kind was the appearance of a single Goldcrest feeding in the 'heli' trap which was caught and ringed.

This afternoon visit by our observer failed to find any sea birds apart from 35 Common Scoter although still present were about 50 Brent and 14 Little Egrets.
