 Weather:  SE force 3/4 , a few spots of rain and light mist around the estuary

The south easterly brought 7 Willow Warblers into the island on their way south, and 5 got ringed this morning.

 A single Wheatear was the only other small migrant today but some of the residents are still around. Two more juvenile Rock Pipits were colour ringed as part of the Hilbre scheme and others that were previously ringed were recorded as still present.

On the late morning high tide 52 Curlews were counted with up to 9,000 Oystercatchers and a Bar-tailed Godwit, 12 Redshank and 6 Whimbrel.

Two Gannets were seen on the sea, also 200 or so Sandwich Terns around the islands. on the list were 8 Eiders, 3 Shelduck, 3 Little Egrets, 2 Grey Herons and 2 Kestrels.
