 Weather: WSW force 7

A late afternoon and evening visit was most productive as the gales blew in some good sea birds. The chief prize was a Leach's Petrel that flew west at 5.30 pm. A little later 2 Black Terns also went west followed by another.

Unexpected was about 190 Arctic Terns battling the wind off the north end. The roost of  terns comprised about 420 Sandwich, 120 Common Terns and 8 Little Terns.

Good numbers of waders were seen today such as 200 Dunlin, 125 Curlew, 125 Sanderling, 90 Ringed Plover, 45 Redshank and 10 Bar-tailed Godwit. The 3 Eider are still here and 11 Little Egrets, 4 Grey Herons, 4 Shelduck, 8 Common Scoter completed the sightings.
