Weather: N force 0/1
A mostly quiet morning, the highlight being the first record of Whimbrel this spring. Three Swallows came through, also a White Wagtail and a few finches, namely 6 Goldfinch, 2 Siskin and a Chaffinch. The two Blackbirds, a possible breeding pair, were both feeding on the main path at one stage. Six Common Scoter were on the sea with 4 Great Crested Grebes and a Guillemot. Recent regulars present were the male Eider and 120 Brent, although no Purple Sandpipers were around this morning. Short-tailed Voles seem to have been plentiful this year and an adult was seen today with 4 young.
thanks to Matt Thomas for the Whimbrel record.
