12th September 2021

Weather: ESE 2  slight drizzle later

After one here yesterday, a group of 3 pale-bellied Brent were present this morning, they were busy feeding after their arrival from arctic Canada.

Quite a fall of Wheatear came in this morning with 15 birds here but they quickly moved on, about 10 more came through later.

There was also a significant arrival of Robins after the drizzle mid-morning with at least 10 grounded.

A Willow Warbler was present and a Goldcrest and a Chiffchaff were also ringed.

Two Black-tailed Godwit and 3 Pintail were added to the list for the day and a Kestrel hunted the island. A hundred Sandwich Terns are still in the area. A count of 160 Grey Seals was made at low tide.

A Raven was here later in the day and at the tide a Little Stint and a juvenile Curlew Sandpiper were found roosting
