Weather: ESE force 1
Another very productive day started with 3 Teal flying out of the gutter ( a female Pintail was also found later in the morning), and a Greenshank calling as it flew down the east side chased by a Redshank, there was thought to be another also around the islands. Willow Warblers were present right from the off, reaching double figures during the morning and probably 4 Whitethroats in the paddocks and gardens with one being ringed.
Two Wheatears waited until near midday before arriving while other small migrants included 4 alba Wagtails and a Grey Wagtail. A Golden Plover was a nice record, it was calling off the west side. A real sign of autumn were 3 Common Snipe flushed from the gutter near Middle Eye. On the shore were 26 Shelduck, a Whimbrel and another high count of 16 Little Egrets, then later in the day 3 Common Snipe were found.
