Weather: WSW force 3/4 mostly sunny
The Cetti's Warbler of Thursday (the first for Hilbre) was retrapped this morning and was found to have added a gram of weight during its stay.
Other small migrants were scarce, single Chiffchaff and Siskin here and a total of 16 Skylarks passed through. The regular Raven made another appearance (probably the same bird of recent weeks). Sea sightings included 2 Red-throated Divers, a Great Crested Grebe and a Razorbill. As usual the Great Black-backs seem to find plenty to eat.The waders were mostly in small numbers before the tide: 15 Ringed Plover, 30 Turnstone, 58 Redshank, 6 Sanderling and 2 Dunlin. Roaming the shore were 5 Little Egrets and 2 Grey Herons. The Kestrel kept watch over the island. There were still 2 Red Admirals on the wing.
