Weather: NW force 3/4, later WNW 4
With the wind being North West and very little on the islands a sea watch was attemped, but the wind was too light and although a Red-throated Diver and 3 Common Terns were mid-distance, 160 Gannets and 20 Sandwich Terns were out towards the wind farm. Two adult males and a female Eider were about the islands and the female was seen to be the bird with a defective wing that has been about now for a few years.
A small flock of 80 Dunlin flew across the East Hoyle
early morning and 3 Bar-tailed Godwit roosted on Middle with 350
Oystercatchers. Only 4 Swallows were noted this morning, hopefully they will be all breeding birds.
Many Linnets are now breeding in the area of the Blackthorn.
Four Little Egret fished in the Gutter after tide.
