16th May 2017

Weather; S force 2/3    cloudy some rain, mild.

The morning weather turned out not as bad as forecast but there were very few migrants about, just a couple of Willow Warblers, a Chiffchaff, a Wheatear but no overhead passage apart from a White Wagtail and about two dozen Swallows.
The Shorelark is still here feeding mostly on the north west side by the light and showing well among the Thrift and Bird's-foot trefoil.

Three Arctic Terns were identified together with some Common Terns flying passed, while around the island were 2 Whimbrel and the remaining Brent Goose.
A Grey Seal was hauled out on the rocks at the north end which is quite unusual.

Ringed: 1 Willow Warbler, 1 Chiffchaff.      [ 363-32 ]   photos CJ
