A quieter morning but still produced some nice birds with three flava Wagtails heard calling over over the island. A Wheatear was on Middle as observers arrived after the early morning tide today.
Whimbrels could also be heard calling as could the in excess of 5,000 Dunlin; it was a sunny but cool morning in the blustery easterly wind. An all round attack on the senses.
The single Pale-bellied Brent Goose floated on the gutter.
A few phylloscs trickled through including a singing Chiffchaff. Two Whitethroats were also caught and ringed.
The maintenance team removed much of the hard work (blackthorn cutting and bracken removal) that had been carried out over the winter today; this work reaping it's rewards for the Obs over the last few days with the numbers of warblers caught.
Ringing: Willow Warbler (2), Whitethroat (2) [276-27]
