Weather: NE force 3, NNE 4 by noon with rain
As with the recent Great Tit, the Blue Tit today arrived on a typical date, both are very scarce visitors to Hilbre.
Although the light for photography was poor today, the Blue Tit's plumage looked splendid (a male?).
Three Jackdaws flew east over the island, another sign spring can't be far away. In addition 2 Siskins and a couple of Pied Wagtails visited. Nearly a hundred Bar-tailed Godwits were logged which included 58 flying east.
Other waders today were 52 Grey Plover, 30 Ringed Plover, 56 Turnstone, 5 Purple Sandpiper and 55 Curlew.
Singing and displaying were in evidence from Wrens, Rock and Meadow Pipits. Two Robins are present at the moment, hopefully they may stay to breed.
Brent are still in good numbers with 420 counted today and 350 Common Scoter were out towards the wind farms. Three Little Egrets were on the shore and of course the Kestrel is still about.
