A very pleasant day but still quiet on the migrant front with single Whitethroat, 4 Willow Warblers, 4 Sand Martins and a single White Wagtail noted.
News of a Great White Egret seen flying west along the North Wirral shore had observers waiting and searching the skies but it didn't arrive and only two Little Egrets could be found on the tide edge at West Kirby saltmarsh; presumably the Great White 'cut the corner' and headed south down the Dee estuary.
Dunlin numbers increased again with 5,000 counted along with a single Sanderling, 150 Ringed Plover, 20 Redshank, 10 Curlew and a good count of 25 Whimbrel.
The highlight of the day was the first 12 Little Terns of the year seen, typically, as the tide dropped.
