A fresh north-westerly breeze did not put some observers off and they were rewarded with the first sightings of Sandwich Terns this year from the island with a good number (35) counted roosting and flying around the West Hoyle sandbank.
The ebbing gutter produced three Little Egrets with a further three south west of Middle.
The sea provided the main focus today with 3 Little Gulls noted as well as 5 Kittiwake and 15 Gannets.
Pale-bellied Brent numbers had dropped to 120 and many of those left spent some time roosting on the East Hoyle sandbank perhaps resting before their long journey to Canada via Iceland.
