Hilbre was pleased to host a visit from the regulars at the Bardey island bird observatory.
A few Swallows and half a dozen Swifts passed through. A male Whitethroat was a late spring/early autumn visitor. A Hummingbird hawk Moth was in the Obs garden, also seen were 2 Painted Lady butterflies and 3 Silver Y moths. The Magpie was still hanging about. Sandwich terns are now building up in numbers, 156 were here today. Other birds seen were a Common Scoter, a Little Egret, a Grey Heron
