Weather: E force 4 rain early clearing to sunny intervals
A Hobby was seen to fly rapidly south straight down the island this morning and turned out to be sighting of the day.
Waders looked particuarly fine when the sun came out, there were 250 Dunlin, 16 Turnstone, 12 Redshank, 14 Curlew, 6 Whimbrel and 42 Ringed Plover.
The Blackbirds appear to have yet another brood, they are feeding young near the obs garden.
The Linnets were able to be counted fairly accurately, there were 54 seen.
A single Willow Warbler was in the SK paddock and counts of Pipits were 30 Meadow and 8 Rock. Other species around the island today included 12 Little Egrets,3 Grey Heron, a Kestrel, 200 Sandwich and 6 Common Terns and a Great Crested Grebe. Lepidoptera did not let us down, there were 14 Small Whites, a Red Admiral and a Common Blue
....moths present were 2 Silver Y, and a Yellow Shell Moth.
