Weather: SE force 3, SSE 3 by noon
Early on 650 Pinkfeet Geese left the estuary,
and there were other signs that spring is on it's way. The male Stonechat was still present.
Two Meadow Pipits were displaying, 16 Linnets were here and a migrant Goldcrest was on the island, also a Skylark flew over. Possible passage visitors about were some of the 5 Robins and 5 Blackbirds. Good sightings on the sea were 51 Great Crested Grebes, 4 Red-throated Divers and 2,500 Common Scoters, a few of which were close to the island. As they are now frequent regulars 6 Goosanders and 5 Eiders were no surprise. Waders included 3,500 Dunlin, 450 Knot, 60 Grey Plover, 12 Bar-tailed Godwits and 4 Purple Sandpiper. The Kestrel and 2 Grey Herons were logged.
