Weather: SE force 3, dry at dawn, rain soon afterwards
The small fall of about a dozen Willow Warblers that were about the island first thing had soon cleared from the paddocks as the rain started, although 4 more then appeared in the obs garden along with a couple of Whitethroats.
The other feature of a mostly damp morning was the passage of groups of Swallows, possibly as many as 100, feeding low over the grass as they flew south.
Waders present included 12 Whimbrel, 16 Turnstone, 100 Sanderling, 250 Dunlin, while slightly more Common Terns were seen today in ratio to the number of Sandwich Terns. Others seen were 4 Pied Wagtails, 4 Grey Herons and 3 Little Egrets.
Ringed: 8 Willow Warblers [ 427-32 ]
