Weather: W force 4, later NW 3
Singles of both Willow Warbler and Wheatear were the migrants on the ground this morning, most of the other small birds seen were those that have been breeding such as a male Blackbird with 2 juveniles, 2 Pied Wagtails and 55 Linnets. Apart from the 550 Sandwich and 8 Common Terns, other sea birds were hard to find, just a single Gannet and a Common Scoter. Best of the waders were 5 Whimbrel, 16 Ringed Plover, 6 Turnstome and a Grey Plover. A Peregrine was present as well as the Kestrel. Flying butterflies were 2 Red Admirals and 2 Common Blues. The Grey Seals numbered 292 today.
