Weather: W force 7/8 rain
A very wet and windy morning with a force 7 westerly over the sea which brought in 2 Arctic Skuas to chase the Sandwich Tern flock of 550 birds.
Ten Gannets were offshore and a lone Kittiwake rested on the shore amongst the Black-headed Gulls. The east gutter held feeding waders including 325 Ringed Plover and 125 Dunlin.
Other waders were 2 Whimbrel, 3 Sanderling, 600 Oystercatchers and 3 Black-tailed Godwits which are scarcer birds at Hilbre. A single Willow Warbler was the only migrant about.
