13th January 2024

Weather:   W force 4,  WSW 4 in the afternoon

The North End was checked a few times for yesterdays Slavonian Grebe to no avail, but then it turned up on the east side of the island on the ebb, a similar time to yesterday. The photo was taken from the Obs garden.

Floating in with the tide were 2 of the 4 Eider noted today, the others remained at the North End.

Also in the gutter were a male and 3 female Goosander

Five Bar-tailed Godwit were on the East Hoyle early but didn't stay long, 460 Grey Plover were counted west of Little Eye early morning. Five thousand Oystercatcher were counted, a more common bird with a red eye than the Slavonian Grebe.
