Weather: SW froce 3/4

A flock of about 70 Pink-footed Geese flew west between Little and Middle Eye just before dawn. There were many more Brent Geese around the main island than of late with a count of 486 Pale and 1 Dark-Bellied.

 Four Eider preened on the Whaleback and later fed off the North End.

 

 Also at the North End were a pair of Goosander which had been displaying.

 

Six Common Scoter and 2 Great Crested Grebes were on the sea, 8 Purple Sandpipers were counted, the Kestrel was present and a Grey Heron stood on the west side. 


The passerines around the island were only seen in single numbers: 7 Wrens, 2 Blackbirds, 3 Robins, 4 Rock Pipits and 3 Meadow Pipits.
