8th September 2009

Morning update - at last some east in the wind - only slightly and from the south-east but nevertheless it produced some warblers!

Two Chiffchaffs were caught and ringed, as was a Whitethroat and a Robin and another juvenile Pied Wagtail (see photo left) was found in the 'Heli' trap early morning - perhaps the roost site for the island brood...

Small numbers of Swallows passed overhead and 5 Whimbrel were seen and heard around the islands.
