Weather: NNW force 1
A late morning visit was lucky to arrive just as an Osprey flew north up the west side of the island. The cacophony of gulls as usual drew attention to the bird, while the waders were flying about in panic. This is the first Osprey seen here this year, on a typical date for Hilbre. Two Swallows, a Chiffchaff and a Goldfinch were the small visitors today. Twenty Brent Geese were seen and waders included 500 Dunlin, 47 Redshank and 2 Little Egrets were on the shore.
