Weather: NE force 3/4
A mid-morning visit found the island quiet in a north easterly. There were a few migrants about, 2 Willow Warblers, 2 White Wagtails, 2 Goldfinches, 3 Redpolls. The male Blackcap present had not arrived today it was ringed here over the last few days. A Greenland Whearear of each sex were the only ones present today. The 50 Sandwich Terns were prominent and the Common Terns have increased to 35. About 9,000 Herring Gulls were seen on the west hoyle, also 38 Greater Black Backs and 25 Lesser Black Backs. Among the waders Whimbrel are now very vocal (11 seen), there were the usual few hundred Dunlin around the island, also 12 Ringed Plover and 35 Sanderling. Three Little Egrets fed in the gutter.
